Biomedicine Today reports that Amgen (AMGN) will be shipping the first batch of Temodar in India to treat people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Meanwhile, MS is actually the largest source of cancer treatment in India, accounting for two-thirds of all cancer treatments. MS is the second largest source. The MS drug is shipped through Amgen’s Indian partner, Novartis, who handles other biopharma shipments to India from their Indian partner, Cipla. The collaboration between the two multinational drug companies was signed in 2014.

Well, what if we could take the power of express shipping and, let's say, make it go through, say, an app on our phones and essentially hand it over to the end user? Now we could ship by app, we can ship to the individual and to the service after they arrive, and we could set the destination. In some cases, it will be app-only. Other places, we'll still be able to forward freight like you do today. We can still ship to businesses, and other destinations, and in some cases send services. Shipping is going to go through them, but we can give information on that. That's one reason why we're

But after Tuesday, maybe only the pharma industry would know, thanks to the legislative minutiae.
As it turns out, the FDA just sent out what is called a final order. That tells a particular company exactly what they’re supposed to do in order to keep the drug they are making at scale. That tells them, for example, the delivery process for the drug they need, or how to supply it to their pharma company customers. What’s especially interesting, though, is that the FDA issued the order on February 7, which has now kicked the supply chain to the third phase.

UPS is considering increasing its business by 20 percent in response to increasing freight demand from e-commerce companies.

The world's biggest freight carrier is planning the bulk of the plan through its UPS Express Network Solutions (ENNS) division in a push to boost its growth by creating more new routes for freight shipments.

"It's going to be a combination of new routes and connecting new forwarding locations," UPS Chief Operating Officer Richard Perera told Reuters, referring to business coming through UPS' network.

An academic study into a pilot project at a Copenhagen shipping terminal has concluded that by improving logistics at the port of Bremerhaven the hours of delayed, stranded freight can be reduced dramatically. The project was launched in June, but the academic report states that the logistics problem caused by delayed goods remains the biggest obstacle to making the big changes that need to be made at the Danish port.“We are convinced that this is the right time to test new transport planning tools in a realistic, controlled environment and now is the time to prove that these new logistics to

There are only a couple of flight hubs out of virtually every airport in the world. “What we need is a very flexible system in the sky. The freight network needs the network as a pilot.”to take advantage of the ability of aircraft to fly in a corridor and make routes global

Ultimately, the solution to the trade imbalance between China and the United States may be a solution offered by one freight forwarding company – FedEx, which offers an end-to-end supply chain to China. FedEx transports about 7% of China’s trade volumes, and expects freight volumes to expand to China by about 10% annually over the next five years. FedEx also offers shipping services directly to China. Of course, FedEx's shipping costs are not zero. FedEx’s shipping cost from Shanghai to Chicago is about $47.20 per container for a 20-foot freight container. However, according to one transporta

Medicine companies that work around the world are now helping to clear the freight bottlenecks. The pharmaceutical industry is one of the world’s largest, taking roughly 30 percent of international freight. Most of the work is domestic in the U.S. The pharmaceutical industry is responsible for about 80 percent of global pharmaceuticals, contributing $3.2 trillion in revenue annually, according to the Pharmaceutical Wholesaler and Suppliers Association. The percentage of international shipments that arrive on time or early can be highly variable, with the FDA saying that for pharmaceutical s,

I used to enjoy looking out my windows at the outer world when I was younger. Later, I worked at the shipping company my mother and her business started while attending college. I haven't actively watched or even given the logistics sector any thought in a long. But the other day, I was told by one of my closest friends—a man who knows a ton about my experience in high school and college—that there are a lot of logistical problems with India, especially with shipping. With its main office located in Bombay, my company is the biggest shipping company in India. The logistics are unproductive, e
