An academic study into a pilot project at a Copenhagen shipping terminal has concluded that by improving logistics at the port of Bremerhaven the hours of delayed, stranded freight can be reduced dramatically.The project was launched in June, but the academic report states that the logistics problem caused by delayed goods remains the biggest obstacle to making the big changes that need to be made at the Danish port.“We are convinced that this is the right time to test new transport planning tools in a realistic, controlled environment and now is the time to prove that these new logistics tools work,” says Jorgen Liebenwaldt from the Department of Transportation Economics at the Danish Technical University in Copenhagen.The new logistics solutions involved a group of companies collaborating with logistics experts from the universities of Copenhagen and Aalborg and from the Danish Transport Agency
